April 2019: We’re building our mini tour of Vancouver Island! The Wanted are booked at the 39 Days of July Cowichan Summer Festival on July 22, 5:00 pm! And then later that same day, we’re at the Duncan Showroom in Duncan, BC. Gonna be great!

All of these scheduled musical events are designed to bring community together to celebrate our diverse local / Canadian and international music scenes, to give the opportunity to meet our neighbours, share a common experience and hopefully be able to now greet each other with a friendly smile on any future happen chance connections. We are proving that downtown Duncan and the Cowichan Valley is... ‘a rather fun place to be’.

So many great new friends and artists who came and shared our showcase Saturday night: Annie Oakley, Hafdis Huld, The Lasses, Silent Winters, Big Little Lions, Madison Galloway, Driftwood Soldier. And they were truly awesome!

July 2018: Each year, the Mariposa Folk Festival curates a thematic compilation CD of songs of selected artists that performed at the festival that year. Mariposa established Gender Equality as this year’s theme. We’re delighted that Mariposa has selected an original song by The Wanted for the CD. “On Your Way Out”, written by Natalie and Jeff Rogers of the band, is a stylish, ‘30s style swing tune with incisive and cheeky lyrics about re-adjusting the balance between a strong woman and the man who is holding her back: “I got me a truck and a PhD, and you thought you could ride for free, but all you ever do is slow me down.” You can hear that song by clicking on our Music tab at the top of this page.
